Marc Speck, the founder
I'm the founder, owner and only employee of Faindu. I started the the company after having successfully introduced wikis in corporate cultures in different countries and acknowledged the great potential of Wikis in the business world.
Before I started Faindu, I lead the technology management at Komax - an international company in the engineering industry with roughly 1000 employees. Long ago, I got a BS in Electrial Engineering at EPF Lausanne and after an academic year at TU Delft, I got a MS in Information Technology at ETH Zürich. In between, I worked in the semiconductor industry in the US.
I write infrequently in my personal blog "I don't like computers" about technical topics and user experience.
Why BlocStac?
While there is no doubt that wikis are going to dominate business communication in the near future, I have very often seen high barriers for people to get their job done in wikis. The underlining problem is a missing adequate mental model of the wikis (and many other applications). The person using a wiki must understand where he is, what is around him, who is around him, what has happend recently and react swiftly and precisly. Current wikis meet some of these requirements but they are poor in giving context or enable regular people like you and me to express our thoughts like in drawing a diagramm or simply resizing an image.
